Then you start looking at the details. Director? Yorgos Noussias. Cast? Meletis Georgiadis, Yannis Katsambas, Andreas Kontopoulos, Daphne Larouni, and Pepi Moschovakou. Country of origin? Greece. That’s right, this is (to my knowledge) the first-ever Greek zombie movie, presented on the Danger After Dark DVD in the original Greek with subtitles. Really, it’s like watching history being made before your very eyes. Amazon.com’s Filed under: DVD Comments: None |

And here’s what director Ulli Lommel had to say:
The exploitation version of Lost in La Mancha (2002)? Possibly. But Ulli Lommel is no Terry Gilliam. Ulli Lommel has made movies like the original Boogeyman trilogy through the 80’s and early 90’s, and a string of “killer” movies this decade, including Zodiac Killer (2005), B.T.K. Killer (2005), and Green River Killer (2005). In other words, when Ulli Lommel says a movie is crappy, you listen. If you want it, Amazon.com Filed under: DVD Comments: 1 Comment |

Reviewers around teh IntarWebs are being guardedly positive about Caleb Emerson’s five-years-in-the-making camp zombie epic. Comments such as “enjoyably bad” and “like Troma, but in a good way” (*DOES NOT COMPUTE*) seem to be standard.
Released in December of 2006 by Lions Gate, here’s the official plot description:
New out last week: The Aztec Mummy Collection, for all of your New World B-movie needs. You’re used to seeing these movies in the chopped, redubbed, Americanized drive-in versions, but this three-disc set from Brentwood presents them in their original Spanish with subtitles. Included here are La Momia Azteca (1957, aka The Aztec Mummy), La Maldición de la Momia Azteca (1957, aka The Curse of the Aztec Mummy), and La Momia Azteca contra el Robot Humano (1959, aka The Robot vs. the Aztec Mummy).
