You wouldn’t think a movie with a description like that could be anything less than spectacular, would you? Yeah, well…
Extra fun: Amazon.com also sells a poster featuring the original VHS box art! Given that the art was far and away superior to the movie, it’s not a bad idea. $35.60. Filed under: Art and DVD Comments: None |

And the quality level seems also inevitable. No offense to, um, the two or three skilled writers who are unaccountably using POD outfits instead of going with big-time publishers, but most self-published stuff is barely literate crap. That’s why it has to be self-published; no third-party would foot the publishing bill. Which brings us to Gregory Smith’s Aftermath of the Dead. Here’s the publisher’s description:
And here are some selected comments from Amazon customer reviews:
If you’d like to get in on the fun (come on, indulge that masochistic tendency!), you can get it through iUniverse directly or via Amazon.com: $13.95 for the softcover version, or $6.00 for the PDF download. Filed under: Books Comments: 3 Comments |

Because absolutely no one demanded it, the zombie “classic” Hard Rock Zombies is available on DVD. Here’s how Vintage Home Entertainment describes it:

You may not have considered that the POD “revolution” (that’s “Publish On Demand,” by the way — the ability to self-publish books in single copies as ordered) would result in a wave of self-published zombie epics. I didn’t. But it has, and in hindsight it seems inevitable.
This sounds like it could be an interesting take on the subject of reanimation. Or not. From the back of the DVD case, with a wee bit of commentary from yours truly:
UK artist Ben Hughes is offering his original grafitti style “Dawn of the Dead” acrylic painting on Ebay.
Director Joe Dante’s episode of the Showtime original series “Masters of Horror” just hit DVD, and it’s both a political statement and a good ol’-fashioned zombiefest.
The biggest zombie DVD news of the last couple of months has been the long-delayed release in June of Cemetery Man, aka Dellamorte Dellamore. Michelle Soavi’s black comedy of life, death, and life starring Rupert Everett is finally available in the U.S. in something other than pan-n-span VHS; the new DVD includes an all-new Death is Beautiful featurette including interviews with star Anna Falchi. director Michele Soavi and more, and an 8-page Collectors’ Booklet.
